Dewey Scandurro
Dewey Scandurro practices in the areas of admiralty and maritime law, personal injury, product liability, insurance litigation, and commercial litigation, representing plaintiffs and defendants. Dewey represents employers, vessel owners, and insurers in defense matters, as well as severely injured individuals in cases involving vessel collisions, pipeline explosions, and other marine accidents involving Jones Act seamen, longshore workers, and vessel passengers. He has also represented individuals with serious injuries from auto accidents and defective products. Dewey has successfully argued before the Louisiana Supreme Court.

When not representing one side or the other in lawsuits, Dewey works as a professional mediator. He was trained at Pepperdine Law School’s top-ranked mediation program and has an active mediation practice. He enjoys finding creative ways to assist parties in resolving complex disputes.
Dewey was born and raised in south Plaquemines Parish. He attended Buras High School and graduated from the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Dewey has served as an officer of the LSMSA Foundation’s Board of Trustees, and in 2014 he received the inaugural Wingspan Award for service to the school.
Dewey is also a competitive runner and triathlete who has won his age group once at the Louisiana state triathlon championship, twice at the Louisiana state half-marathon championship, and twice at the Louisiana Half Marathon. He has completed a 140.6-mile Ironman event and is a five-time Boston Marathon Qualifier. He lives in New Orleans with Michelle, his wife of over 25 years.
